Parterre Garden in Frensham

This newly landscaped garden in Frensham had many beautiful features including an elegant parterre terrace near the house that required planting and some additional flowerbeds surrounding the lawn where a less formal feel was required.

A mix of low growing, floriferous plants such as Geranium ‘Dreamland’, Nepeta and Erigeron will provide colourful ground cover, whilst Ilex crenata topiary balls bring a sense of formality and Hydrangea ‘Kyushu’ both height and elegance.

The Ilex topiary pieces lead you to the central arch where Jasmin and scented Roses will climb and Clematis can wind their way through both, adding a vibrant pop of colour. Taller plants such as Delphiniums, Campanulas and Lupins will stand tall and set the scene for a less formal scheme beyond.

The perimeter beds surrounding the lawn are a mix of Cistus, Japanese anemones, Salvia and ornamental grasses on the sunnier sides, with Acanthus, Astrantia and Brunnera for shaddier spots.
